Sylvain Guimond, D.O., Ph.D.

President and Founder

Sylvain Guimond is a renowned expert and practitioner in the fields of posture, biomechanics and sports psychology for over 20 years. He is also the founder, President and CEO of Biotonix. Sylvain is an active speaker and contributor to various academic, scientific, sporting and business organizations and venues. In 2009, he authored his first book, entitled “Dans mes souliers-Devenez vous-même-Pourquoi P.A.S.?” Sylvain is a regular guest host and subject expert matter on television and has appeared on TVA’s morning show, Salut Bonjour, TQS’s En forme with Marcel Maroist, Radio-Canada’s 5 sur 5 with Simon Durivage, RDS’s Sports 30, l’Antichambre and Alpine Ski World Cup.

Biotonix system has been used in numerous projects that have been published in peer-reviewed journals, including The Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back, Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

He evaluated and treated over 1,000 world class athletes. He was a consultant for the NHL and NBA, working with teams such as Montreal Canadians, New York Rangers, Dallas Stars, Caroline Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins. Other sports professional teams include the Atlanta Braves, Montreal Alouettes and the Phoenix Suns.

Sylvain is a physical educator, an osteopath and a doctor in sport psychology. As a McGill graduate from the department of physical education and kinesiology, he has been the chairman of the board of the consulting committee. For many years he has sit on the Nazareth Louis-Braille foundation. In 2010 he has been a finalist of the entrepreneurial Ernst and Young.

Sébastien Lacoste, eng.

Vice President, Technology

Mr. Lacoste is a skilled software engineer and has been part of the Biotnix team since 1991. He was instrumental in designing and developing the Biotonix core biomechanics analysis technology and suite of applications. Since 2000, Mr. Lacoste has been leading Biotonix’s research and development team. He is a graduate in Software Engineering from Laval University. He won during 4 consecutive years The Canadian Scholarship. Mr. Lacoste is an active member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.


Jean-Francois Normandin, B.Sc.

Vice President, Sales & Services

Mr. Normandin is an expert in fitness and rehabilitation exercise prescriptions, and personnel training. During the first years of his career, he cumulated experiences in various fitness networks including Nautilus Plus. He was also an owner of a personal training business. Mr. Normandin has been with the Biotonix team since inception and is a key contributor to the Company’s postural correction and improvement programs as well as a collaborator to its research and development programs.

He holds a Bachelors of Science in Physical Activity, specialized in wellness, from Sherbrooke University. Mr. Normandin also completed posture and exercises certifications from the National Academy of Sport Medicine (NASM) as well as a specialization in posturology and biomechanics, including rehabilitation exercises, with French orthopaedist Dr. Bernard Bricot.
